RULES
THE RULES OF CLEVEDON LINK
We are a club
for single, separated, divorced or widowed people, from the age of 30 years
upwards, who wish to meet others in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere to form
new friendships.
We
are a self-financing social club.
We are not a
dating agency or
marriage
bureau, and are not affiliated to
any other club.
There is an annual membership fee which is payable by ALL members and is renewable on 1st October each year.
CLUB
NIGHTS
The club is
administered by an elected committee who organise a programme of events,
supplementary to
Tuesday Club
nights, including parties, meals, theatre visits walks etc., which usually take
place at weekends. Hopefully,
everyone should find something of interest, and also have the opportunity of
meeting new friends.
THE COMMITTEE
The Committee is elected annually and comprises up to 10 members. Nominations will be accepted from 1st August each year and each one requires a proposer and a seconder, together with the agreement of the nominee. Nominees must have been a fully paid up Member of the club for a minimum of three months as of 1st October of the current year and not be a current committee member of any other singles club. The nominee must be present at the AGM. If elected, Committee members must not be involved in the running of any other singles club.
In the event of
more than 10 nominations being received, a ballot paper will be issued to
all Members and an election will be held.
The
proposed
incoming
Committee will be announced at the A.G.M. and objections to any proposed
Committee Member must be made in writing stating a valid reason for the
objection and signed by the objector, within 2 weeks of the A.G.M. which is held
in October each year. The various
responsibilities will be decided amongst the Committee Members themselves.
In the event of more than one person electing to undertake the duties of Chairperson, a ballot of the previous year's club members will be taken at the AGM.
In
certain circumstances, we would welcome a member to join the Committee for a six month period.

£20.00 that is to be paid by ALL

be aware that if they bring the same guest to the club more than twice in the

We would ask members to support club night and raffles as generously as they are able.
In addition to the room rental, funds are used to subsidise, wherever possible,
